Just as they always say, “anything worth doing, is worth doing right.” In 2015 I began my quest to volunteer at fifty different charities in 50 weeks. Without much thought I dove in and absolutely loved each and every experience.
Just as I started to get in my groove I received an amazing opportunity with the Alzheimer’s Association. I took a position as the Associate Director of Development, directing their largest annual fundraiser, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. I believe this opportunity was directly related to my extensive volunteering with the organization.
Unfortunately with taking a second full time job (my first with “It’s Me JillG” & “Value Added Marketing”) my #50CharityChallenge took a backseat; but my passion to volunteer didn’t go away and I’m ready to give it another shot.
Beginning in May, I will again start my #50CharityChallenge. Second time’s a charm.
